Stearic acid

Stearic acid is an organic compound synthesized mainly from animal fats. However, it can be found in palm, soy, and cocoa oils. The French chemist Cheverl discovered it in 1816. Stearic acid is a colorless crystal or powder, most often with a wax odor.
Due to a number of chemical properties, the substance is very widely used in the production of cosmetic products.
The active components of stearic acid are concentrated in the uppermost layers of the epithelium, due to which it has a beneficial effect on the skin. The skin acquires a more even color, becomes matte, smooth and silky.
